Gyan Mudra

Raccoon Pose is an animal-themed variation of Easy Pose! Children can do this pose in their classroom chairs, car seats, or circle time.

Get creative with this pose. Kids can also turn their fingers into binoculars and wide owl eyes!

Some of our favorite activities that incorporate Raccoon Pose are African Safari and The Spooky Box. Both are fun and easy ways to bring yoga into elementary schools, preschool, or yoga class.

Step 1
Sit with your legs crossed, and bring your thumb and forefinger to touch.

Step 2
Gently rest your hands on your legs (in Easy Pose), or bring your hands up to your eyes to make a raccoon mask!

Step3
Take a look around, then bring your hands back to your lap.
