Improve strength and balance with Dragon Pose! Kids love the name of this pose and how versatile it is.

You’ll find this dragon in Chinese Zodiac Animals, and as a cactus in A Day and Night in the Desert.

To encourage breathing in this pose, have dragons pretend to breathe fire, or describe the castle they are protecting!

Step 1
Begin in Downward Facing Dog.

Step 2
Step one foot forward, between your hands.

Step 3
Lower your back knee to the ground, and rest the top of your foot on your mat.

Step 5
Hold this pose for a couple of breaths, then lower your hands to the floor and press back into Downward Facing Dog.

Step 6
Repeat with your opposite side.
