Garudasana

Eagle Arms is a very early version of Eagle Pose. As children become more advanced, you may wish to increase the difficulty by having them stand with their legs crossed in an X while in this pose.

This pose also helps children to practice self-love with the hugs they give to themselves! Some of our favorite hugs are found in Little Owl Lost and Quick as a Cricket.

Eagle Arms can also be practiced while children are seated.

Step 1
Begin in Mountain Pose.

Step 2
Reach your arms out wide, then wrap them around your upper body in a hug.

Step 3
Hold the pose for a couple of breaths.

Step 4
Open your arms up wide, and give yourself another hug with your opposite arm on top.

Step 5
Hold this pose for a couple of breaths, then release your arms into Mountain Pose.
