Let’s Go On a Monster Hunt

To the rhythm of “Let’s Go On a Bear Hunt”.
The instructor says the first line, and the children repeat each line individually.

Have kids get into the yoga pose as you look in each location.
Hold the pose until you say, “ok, let’s go!”
Then march or run in place to shake off the pose.

For the last verse, have children hold each pose as they retrace their steps and head safely to bed.

We’re going on a monster hunt.
We’re going to find a big one!
I’m not scared.
Ok, let’s go!

Let’s go in the bedroom.
Maybe it’s under the bed.
He’s not on top of the bed.
He’s not underneath the bed.
There’s no monster in this room.
Ok, let’s go!

We’re going on a monster hunt.
We’re going to find a big one!
I’m not scared.
Ok, let’s go!

Let’s go in the attic.
We have to climb some stairs.
He’s not in the cobwebs.
He’s not behind the junk.
There’s no monster up here.
Ok, let’s go!

We’re going on a monster hunt.
We’re going to find a big one!
I’m not scared.
Ok, let’s go!

Let’s go someplace dark.
Maybe it’s in a cave.
He’s not at the front of the cave.
He’s not at the back of the cave.
There’s no monster in this cave.
Ok, let’s go!

We’re going on a monster hunt.
We’re going to find a big one!
I’m not scared.
Ok, let’s go!

Let’s go in the forest.
Maybe it’s hiding in here.
He’s not up in the branches.
He’s not behind the trunk.
There’s no monster by this tree.
Ok, let’s go!

We’re going on a monster hunt.
We’re going to find a big one!
I’m not scared.
Ok, let’s go!

I think I hear something behind me.
Is there a monster back there?
Quick turn around.
Look to the other side.
WE FOUND A MONSTER!
QUICK, LET’S GO!

Hurry through the forest.
Get in and out of the cave.
Up the stairs, then down the stairs.
Jump safely into bed.
Whew! It’s time for sleep.
