There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Books

Lucille Colandro

To encourage breathing and group participation, engage children to sing along with you!

For an added challenge, have children run through each pose at the last verse of the book.

Arms create the front and back covers of the book, knees bend to form the pages inside.

Arms and legs sway to write in the books.

Stretch out to make an extra big pencil case – remember to do both sides!

Reach up to measure the pencil case – remember to do both sides!

Gently open and close legs so the folder can protect the ruler.

Hold straight and strong as a piece of chalk.

Swallowed a bag? Silly old lady – it goes on your back!

Walk around, as the bus drives around the corner.

Have a great school year!
