We’re Going on a Leaf Hunt

Steve Metzger

Keep bodies moving with active movement and yoga poses, all on a yoga mat! Children love the repeating verses and following along to this storyline.

Let’s go on a leaf hunt!

We came to a mountain – stand tall.

We have to climb over it!

Slowly walk your hands side-to-side, to pick up some maple leaves…

…and toss them up in the air!

We’re going on a leaf hunt.

We’ve come to a forest – remember to do both sides!

Pick up some birch leaves…

…and toss them up in the air!

Let’s go on a leaf hunt.

We’re at a swooshing waterfall – “slip, slide, splish, and splash” to make the water sounds.

Pick up some hickory leaves…

…and toss them up in the air!

Let’s go on a leaf hunt.

We’ve reached a cold, cold lake.

Let’s row across the lake!

Pick up some red oak leaves…

…and toss them up in the air!

It’s a skunk!

Remember to do both sides.

Back across the lake…

Past the waterfall…

Through the forest…

Over the mountain…

Home at last!
