Downward Facing Dog is often the first yoga pose that children learn! It has the ability to be both a calming and energizing pose, and helps to get our blood flowing and recenter our focus.
To encourage breathing in this pose, have fun and try barking!
Begin on your hands and knees, in Table Pose.
Curl your toes under, straighten your knees, and lift your hips.
Keep your head between your arms.
When you are ready, lower your knees to your mat.
For a fun variation, or to increase the stretch, try Three-Legged Dog Pose!
